White Rabbit, Red Rabbit
8pmFort Mason Center Chapel
1100 Bay Street
San Francisco, CA 94123Join us Saturday for Shinichi’s encounter with the unknown in WHITE RABBIT, RED RABBIT. This play, called “theater/entertainment meets social experiment,” was written by Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour. It is a solo piece designed to be played only once by any given performer.
Mr. Soleimanpour declined to serve in his country’s armed forces, in return the Iranian government denied his request for a passport. Unable to leave Iran, he has instead sent a script to SFIAF to have other people read it for him.
Soleimanpour’s arresting and allegorical work, White Rabbit, Red Rabbit, dissects the experience of a whole generation in a wild, utterly original play. Soleimanpour turns his isolation to his own advantage with the play (written in English) which requires no director, no set, and a different actor for every performance.
Per Mr. Soleimanpour’s instruction, the script of White Rabbit, Red Rabbit will be opened in front of the audience and performed unrehearsed by a different actor each night.
This night, it’s Shinichi. Produced by San Francisco International Arts Festival.

Dance on Land, 2016
Dawn to Dusk“Lost Coast” of California
Steps in the River- an exploration of improvisation within form
Join us June 17-24, 2016 for our 10th annual Dance on Land on the “Lost Coast” of California. In this intensive workshop we immerse ourselves in the forests, river, ocean, field and the dance studio in the barn. We hone and develop our physical sensitivities and creative responsiveness through rigorous improvisational training rooted in Action Theater, Body Weather Exercises, Qigong Exercises and Noguchi Taiso.
The work will be both physically invigorating and delicate, allowing our bodies/minds to stretch in many directions at once. Communal meals in the outdoor kitchen, time around the fire, and periods for quiet reflection and small group outings will provide opportunity for rest and rejuvenation.
For more information, please contact Dana at daisy@inkboat.com
